Hey everyone, we will get started in just a few minutes. Thanks for participating!
Ok, we will go ahead and get started. Thank you to our focus group members for your ongoing participation in helping make our platform better! You might have seen we rolled out some new features and improvements today. I hope you enjoy them. I want to use the next 30 minutes for you to ask questions about the platform and to provide any suggestions you might have. This will be the first of many discussions. That being said, fire away!
While we await some questions, let me tell you about the features we added today.
We updated our mapping icons in hopes they come across a bit crisper and cleaner on the map (mobile users, updating the mobile apps to match is starting now and should be out very soon)
We also made the map much bigger to improve viewing area
Last but not least, we added a bunch of new waterways, primarily saltwater, parts of the Mississippi River, and the Great Lakes.
Doesn't just have to be questions, you can also provide suggestions!
I forgot to mention the catch and spot management system we rolled. this "virtual fishing log" is very powerful. It allows you to store, manage, and view all of your past spots.
History is one of the best planning tools
Thanks for the question. We are adding "reporters". In fact, everyone should friend "Fishidy Reports". this user is adding dozens of real time fishing reports to the maps pages everyday. These reports come directly from experts on the water. We are looking for more and more people to serve as these reporters. If anyone is interested, please let us know.
Mostly definitely, we have an upcoming development cycle where we are going to make all "public" spots available for our users. Additionally, we are going to add more filters to the catch/spot management so you can filter by friends, time, bodies of water
Great question, Bobby. This is our top complaint/question. Write now, the best way to handle it is to go to the map and navigate to the lake and mark it as a spot. That way it's always stored. We are currently working on a system that will allow our users to add lakes into Fishidy for all users to connect to, share info, and provide details.
Laura, don't worry. Those features will be out on mobile within a month! Plus the updated mapping. Thanks for the kind words.
Darold, great question. I think we are trying to be more proactive with that by add some field reporters to share info and reports. But ultimately Fishidy is a "social network" which meaning the more our users put in the more they will get out of it. We are growing at a tremendous clip right now so hopefully usership will continue to grow. From a feature standpoint, we are going to be working on and releasing a "recommendations" tool that will recommend lakes and buddies
based on your fishing preferences.
Great Question. Yes, we have done some preliminary work on that. Right now we can do GPSX format but we would like to make it a little easier on the end user by working with devices native format. (Sorry yo get technical here)
Laura, would you like to share just the pictures or all the details?
We were thinking of just have a picture share to FB, but would like your feedback on that issue. Any last questions before we close out?
Great feedback Jon! We will look into that.
Well, it looks like that's a wrap. I appreciate everyone's feedback and participation. We will try to have these chats more frequently. If you have any suggestions, please do not hesitate to email us. Fishidy is our life and passion and our small team is really working hard to make it the best platform possible. We understand that we have a lot of work to do still, but we can't do it alone, we need your help. Have a great weekend and Tight Lines!
